The goal of crisis intervention at High Plains Mental health Center is to provide effective treatment in the least restrictive environment necessary. In many cases, crisis intervention and safety planning can happen via telephone hotline or with the Mobile Crisis Team. If necessary for client safety, referrals will be made to the nearest hospital Emergency Room for professional screening. The screening will determine if a higher level of care is necessary. The goal is to reduce hospitalizations and utilize other resources to the extent possible.
