Mental Health First Aid

High Plains Mental Health Center is proud to be a leading provider of community-based Mental Health First Aid training in Northwest Kansas. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based community program that teaches members of the public how to help someone developing a possible mental health problem; experiencing worsening mental illness symptoms; or in the midst of crisis. This class also helps reduce stigma in communities and increases mental health literacy.

We provide this training in the communities of Northwest Kansas. It is ideal for school districts, hospitals, emergency responders, churches, social service agencies, businesses, and community groups of all kinds. The information presented is factual, evidence-based and easy to understand. Participants will receive a five-step action plan that is easy to remember. This class counts toward professional/continuing education credit for many professions.

We have a team of seven qualified instructors who can teach Adult Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid for Public Safety. To date, our team has certified almost 3,000 Kansans in Mental Health First Aid. Together, we can #BeTheDifference.
